We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Finance / Commercial Manager. This role is crucial in overseeing financial transactions, ensuring accurate records, and providing financial insights to support the vision of Arise Church.
This role is for one individual and is a permanent, full time position.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Finance / Commercial Manager oversees the financial operations of the church, ensuring accuracy and alignment with the church's vision. Responsibilities include:
Overseeing day-to-day finance and commercial operations, and safeguarding resources
Prepare monthly financial analysis and reporting for leadership and board
Maintaining our key database of members and donations giving
Leading annual budget planning and quarterly forecasting processes
This role requires oversight of the core financial compliance responsibilities of the church as a charitable trust
ABOUT YOU
To be a successful candidate for this role, you will have:
Bachelors in Accounting / Commerce or similar (required)
Charted Accountant (CAANZ or similar) Registration (required)
Additionally, we would prefer the candidate to have:
7 years, or more, of Accounting Experience
Experience in improving accounting and organisation financial processes
Experience working for a NFP
Proficiency in using Xero and Microsoft Excel

Time Management – able to self-manage accomplishing tasks and responsibilities in a timely manner
Professional Approach – able to work with a professional manner and with a range of stakeholders including staff, audit agencies, government agencies etc
Communication and collaborative skills – ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders in a positive manner
Ability to work under pressure – relating to the ebbs and flows of financial year etc
Ability to act with integrity and confidentiality
Wellington is the preferred base for this role, however there is some location flexibility. In addition, flexible work hours and a work-from-home hybrid set up will also be considered. A laptop and mobile phone will be provided to assist in the outworking of the role.

This role is for one individual and is a permanent, full time position.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As the Lead Pastor, you will be required to:
Work with the Board, Leadership Team and Spiritual Advisory to develop strategies that fulfil the mission, vision and values of ARISE Church
Actively engage in spiritual leadership and pastoral care of campus leaders and ARISE staff
Oversee the care of ARISE members (congregation)
Continue the development of key changes, based on recommendations from the Review Advisory Committee
Build and develop a healthy culture within ARISE
ABOUT YOU
To be a successful candidate for this role, you will have:
A Bachelor or Diploma level qualification in Theology or Christian Ministries (preferred)
Previous experience in Christian ministry, with significant responsibility
Good communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to preach and teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ
Additionally, we would prefer the candidate to:
Be based in Wellington and be open to regular travel within New Zealand
Have experience in transformation/change environments
Some personal attributes that would make you a good fit for this role include:
A clear, mature and personal faith in Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord, with a desire to serve God through the local church
An acceptance of the authority of the Bible in all matters of life and doctrine
An enthusiasm for the Gospel and a passion for seeing people come to faith and grow in their relationship with God
The ability to relate to a wide variety of people of different ages, backgrounds and needs (both from a church background and those with no church background)
Having a pastoral heart and being able to support and encourage others in their Christian life. You will have a heart for discipling people and will have demonstrated this in previous ministry roles
Confidence in exercising your spiritual gifts
Being able to maintain confidentiality where appropriate
