John Cameron

John Cameron is a visionary leader with a passion for the cause of Christ and the building of His Church. Known for his dynamic preaching gift, John delivers messages that resonate in hearts and challenge mindsets. He lives to encourage people to boldly step into the plan that God has for them.

Gillian Cameron

Gillian Cameron has a passion to see people come alive through the love of God and realise their true value and potential in Him. She is a builder of God’s church and is committed to activating people in their gifts and following Jesus wholeheartedly.

John and Gillian are the founders and lead pastors of ARISE Church. They have a deeply-rooted belief in the local church and a relentless passion to inspire a generation of believers to fulfil their God-given destiny. Through their leadership ARISE has grown from a group of 7 people in a small dance and drama studio to a church of thousands in many locations.

Graeme Kirkwood
Board Chairperson

Graeme Kirkwood (Chairperson) is a qualified Chartered Accountant and an Ordained Minister with the Australian Christian Church movement in Australia. After working in the corporate and business world in various accounting and management positions, Graeme dedicated his life to working in Christian Ministry globally. Over the past three decades, Graeme has worked with over 700 Christian organisations across 18 different countries – as a local Church Pastor, Christian Ministry Manager, Elder and Church Consultant. Graeme provides governance and strategic planning, financial and project modelling and restructuring advice, as well as sitting on a number of boards of large, multi-site and multi-national churches.

Kylie Fletcher

Kylie Fletcher (Ngaa Rauru ki Tahi, Ngaati Ruanui, Ngaati Porou) is a management professional, with a background in people leadership for large Government departments. Her qualifications and expertise are in the areas of Māori, management and economic development. Kylie is an experienced public servant with proven experience in governance across not-for-profit organisations and tribunal environments. Kylie has been a member of ARISE for seventeen years and is currently journeying with the leadership and Māori community across the church as they explore the covenant responsibilities of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

Robert Reid

Robert Reid is a respected leader in the wider NZ Christian community. During a varied career in mechanical engineering, sales management, property development, business and pastoral ministry, Robert has developed a unique ability that spans both commercial and not for profit sectors including many parts of the developing world. Today Robert works alongside successful property executives, philanthropists, church leaders, international missional leaders and individuals as a consultant or in advisory and governance board roles.

Israel Cooper

Israel Cooper is a qualified Chartered Accountant (CPA), and has had a range of senior roles in financial advisory and management, technology, and construction. Israel currently works in both a directorship and management capacity for a number of commercial organisations and social projects aimed at addressing homlessness in New Zealand and overseas. Israel also assists on a number of cross-sector initiatives working to improve housing health, sustainability, supply, and affordability and has over a decade in governance experience and sits on a number of charitable trust boards.

Alice Camaivuna

Alice Camaivuna is a Solicitor specialising in Administrative and Employment Law. Alice holds a current practising certificate and has extensive experience advising government departments, school boards and charitable entities. Alice has also been involved in providing legal advice on the establishment and maintenance of numerous governance entities including providing strategic advice to support good decision making. Alice is mum to three young boys and has been a member of Arise for sixteen years.
