As we continue to navigate the church through this season of transition and change for our church, we continue to strengthen the Board in both skillsets and understanding.
For that reason the Board are happy to announce the additions of John Robertson and Joseph Bundy-Cooke as Trustees.
John Robertson is an experienced Organisational Leader, Business Coach and SME Entrepreneur. He has experience in Incorporated Society leadership and Directorship, not-for-profit boards and church governance and leadership. John and whānau have been members of the Arise community for 8 years in the Christchurch campus. He is dad to four adult children and ‘Poppa’ to two beautiful grandchildren. We are thrilled to have John’s wealth of experience added to the team.
Joe Bundy-Cooke is our current Hamilton Campus Pastor and was part of the original team that planted the campus in 2010. He and his wife Jess also pastored the Whangarei campus between 2016-2019. Supplementary to his role as a Campus Pastor, Joe also works with others pastors across Arise to provide support and leadership. He has a diploma in Christian ministry with BCNZ and has been on staff at Arise for almost 12 years. The Bundy-Cookes have 3 precious children and have been in ministry for 16 years. Joe’s addition to the Board helps to bring a deeper understanding of the operations and day-to-day running of the church.
We are thankful to both John and Joe and their families for their willingness to step into this role.
We also want to let our church family know that Israel Cooper has resigned from his position as Trustee on the Board. Israel has diligently served Arise in this capacity for nearly 5 years. He has worked tirelessly throughout that time and especially gone over & above this year. Israel is taking this step so as to be able to give more focus back to his family, and to allow for fresh leadership within the Board. We are tremendously grateful to Israel and his family for the sacrifices they have made in this role. Israel is committed to being a close advisor to the Board and helping however he can in the days ahead.
Ngā mihi nui Israel.
