A Message from the Board – February 13
2024-02-13

Kia ora church whānau,

2023 was a significant year for us as a church as we commissioned new lead pastors, hired a general manager, and created a 2024 budget with a completely new budget process. For our first email for 2024, we wanted to let you know about a few important updates.

MBIE Update
In September last year, we let you know that the Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment (MBIE)’s investigation was progressing and that we had received a draft preliminary report. MBIE has since completed its investigation and has filed a statement of problem with the Employment Relations Authority (ERA). We are now working on a response to this. Once the ERA has received our response they will make a decision on how to proceed. We remain hopeful and prayerful for this to be resolved in good time and we invite you to pray into this with us.

Board Personnel Changes
John Robertson concluded his time as a trustee at the end of 2023. We want to take this moment to sincerely thank John for his contribution to the Arise Board. John joined the Board during our church’s most challenging period and consistently brought great strength, wisdom, and expertise. His expertise in leadership and management helped us improve our processes and systems, and his strong faith helped us remain steady through uncertain times.

The board carries a significant responsibility and time commitment, which John eagerly undertook. We are grateful that John extended his time beyond the initial 12-month term to help us navigate the second half of 2023, and we pray for all that is ahead in his next endeavours.

Vision Sunday
Last Sunday our Lead Pastor Ben Kendrew shared the new vision statement for Arise Church: Pursue Jesus, Build His Church, Advance His Kingdom, Impact Our World. This is a defining moment for Arise. The vision has set the tone for the future of our church and the board would like to thank Ps Ben and Amy who have taken on the full mantle of our Lead Pastors. We are looking forward to carrying this vision together with you all and are excited to see what God has in store for His church in the days ahead.

Nga mihi nui,
The Arise Board.
